The United States of America is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. And you know what this means, a multitude of dishes of varying cultures for us to explore!

This is a dish that needs no introduction. The concept of the hamburger apparently originated around the 19th century, and as it gained popularity, more people began experimenting with it. One of the best results of this was the Cheeseburger. The origins of this dish is, of course, widely disputed but you can’t deny the fact that the USA is very popular for it.

Pot Roast

A classic dinner plate in the USA, Pot Roast can be made with any cut of beef roast. There are many popular choices including, chuck roast, round roast, and beef brisket. It is then seared and cooked with plenty of vegetable including potatoes, onions, and carrots.

Hot Dog

Basically, anything with a Hot Dog will do the trick. However, one of the more popular ones are the classic Hot dog, sandwiched between a sliced bun, and topped with a bit of ketchup and mustard. Everyone’s favorite hot dog is basically a cooked sausage which is traditionally grilled or steamed. Garnish with mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, onions, relish, cheese, and chili for some extra taste.

Apple Pie

Apple Pie, one of the USA’s favorite pies, is a simple combination of sugar, buttery pastry and tart sliced apples. Although the dish is not of distinctly American origin, it has been transformed into a unique and remarkable “American experience”. “As American as Apple Pie” is the saying, as this dish is a national institution.

Simple, made by hand, and cooked outdoors, S’mores is the staple dessert around any campfire in the USA. Who knew that roasting a marshmallow and squishing it between two graham crackers with a slice of chocolate could be so tasty?
